The answers to your “why”!
Are Atelier Cire candles signed?
It depends on the model. Indeed, the candle-making process varies from one model to another. We sometimes start with the original piece, or with a mold, plaster cast, or replica. If possible, we make sure the candle is signed in the wax, but this is not always possible.
Why do Atelier Cire candles seem expensive?
Beautifully finished "molded" candles are difficult to make, much more so than candles that are "poured" into a container. Just like bronze sculptures, they require a form of chiseling, in other words, manual retouching to perfect them. These are handmade candles. They are also replicas of works of art, which implies assignments of copyright. These candles are also beautiful pieces, generally around a kilo. If you compare the price to weight on comparable candle ranges, you will discover that they are fairly priced.
Why are delivery times on the Atelier Cire website longer than on other websites?
Atelier Cire is a one-man business, the team is very small, and we do a lot. In order to better manage our time between sales, production, business development, administrative tasks, and marketing, we decided to organize deliveries once a week, on Tuesdays. This way, our schedule is under control to better move forward. If you're really in a hurry, don't hesitate to contact us by email or phone. You can also purchase your candle from a partner retailer whose delivery times are shorter.
Why do you only deliver to Europe, the United States and Canada?
It's a matter of legislation. Indeed, the candle trade meets safety standards that must be respected, and there are almost as many standards as there are countries. Our candles are currently manufactured and, above all, labeled to meet the requirements of the European and North American markets. If you would like to be delivered outside of these areas, contact us and we will study the feasibility.
Why Atelier Cire candles are made without added fragrance
Indeed, it's a choice for the collection's launch. The reason is simple: the creator of Atelier Cire is allergic to scented candles. Atelier Cire candles naturally diffuse the scent of burning wax, like the sweet smell of Christmas or celebrations when candles are lit. They have the subtle fragrance of warm atmospheres.
Furthermore, adding a scent to a candle is tricky, as fragrance is a personal matter. Finally, there are many other solutions for perfuming your home (melts, home fragrance, incense, essential oils, etc.).
